  • Overview

    Summary: The First Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for assisting the Director of Golf with managing and overseeing all elements of the Club’s golf-related activities resulting in an exceptional overall golf experience for Club Members and guests. Provides top quality individual and group instruction to members and guests.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


         .   Assists in evaluation of Golf staff

         .   Provides and interprets golf policies, rules and regulations

         .   Assumes Director of Golf duties in his absence

         .   Assists in the coordination of tournaments and special events

         .   Preforms starter or marshal duties as needed

         .   Assists in all merchandising aspects, to include monthly inventory, checking in merchandise and displaying

         .   Maintains an attractive, orderly appearance in and around the golf shop.

         .   Consults with the Director of Golf about golf course and range operations

         .   Follows directives and completes designated assignments in timely matter

         .   Performs all work according to established procedures

    • Maintains strict confidentiality of client, company and personnel information
    • Demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization
    • Adheres to company attendance standards
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Registered in the PGA program


    Computer Skills:


    Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, ACCESS, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook



    Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:


    Work is performed in a country club and golf course environment both indoors and outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active member and employee communication; May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, and stooping.  May also be subject to moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds with assistance and objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.  Stands, sits, or walks for an extended period.
