  • Overview

    The bartender will be completely member focused, anticipating member needs, creating a welcoming environment and enjoyable experience for each member, every day.  The bartender will be creative and energetic with regard to bar menu options, present exciting new possibilities for members, introduce members to each other, engage in conversation about the clubs activities, social offerings, enticing participation in events across golf, tennis and the clubhouse.  Welcomes and acknowledges all guests according to company standards, anticipates and addresses guests’ service needs, assists individuals with disabilities, and thanks guests with genuine appreciation. 


    • Provide excellent service to guests including explaining menu and specials, taking orders, up selling, presenting the check/securing payment and other needs as required
    • Greet each member by name, know their favorite drinks, make recommendations
    • Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
    • Market the food and beverage operation to ensure financial success
    • Prepare for a shift by completing tasks such as prepping liquor, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes, back bar, etc.
    • Perform accurate cash handling
    • Maintain thorough cleanliness and sanitation of work area; complete other cleaning as assigned
    • Perform proper mixology, and wine and beer pours
    • Complete breakdown of bar area including cleaning of all equipment, coolers, shelves, counters, and lounge tables; counting inventory; and restocking and ordering supplies, liquor, beer, wine, etc.
    • Assist in new employee training including demonstrating service procedures and policies and introducing menus
    • Attend mandatory company and/or departmental meetings and trainings
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibilities:   None 


    • Outgoing personality, positive attitude and strong communication skills
    • Strong knowledge of restaurant operation, service procedures and function.
    • Member service focus
    • Be 21 years of age.
    • Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
    • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
    • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
    • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
    • Honesty and Integrity



    Education and/or Experience: 

    Associate’s Degree preferred but not required.

    Minimum 3 years bartending experience is preferred.


    Computer Skills: 

    Basic software knowledge in MS Word, Excel and reservation systems.


    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

    Regular part time (20 – 25 hours per week), including evenings, weekends and holidays.  


    Environmental Factors/Physical Demands: 

    Work is performed in a country club, bar and restaurant.  Subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to eighty (40) pounds.
